Right before the season, my boy Clooney posed the question: "What are the top 10 basketball programs, either current or all-time?" With the help of the JCI, we can rank teams over multiple seasons, say the last 10 years. But before I post the results, I thought I'd throw the topic out there for discussion. Who do you think would be in the top 10 over the last 10 years (note the change, originally I had 5 years but switched it to 10)? Or put another way, if you had to create a bracket using performance over the last 5 years instead of the current year, who would be your 1 seeds, 2 seeds, etc? Post your comments below.

I had originally replied via e-mail but it looks like Wego and I have the same teams...although slightly different order.
Duke
Kentucky
Kansas
UConn
Michigan State
Illinois
Syracuse
Maryland
Arizona
North Carolina (only because they had some down years when Daugherty was coach)
I agree with the 'Others to mention" but maybe add Oklahoma to that list.

cloon.
my issue with your list is all 5 of the last 5 champs have solid resumes over the designated time period. i have a hard time putting anyone who has no ring above those 5. i thought hard about both msu and illini, but couldnt do it. no ring, then no top 5. only way i can validate an argument against that is if they had multiple second place finishes and your top 5 of kentucky, kansas and msu do not fit that bill. when we move to last 10 years, i feel those 3 will be recognized. not scrutinizing your list too much because you probably just did this off top of your head or thought about it a while, but no hard research, just validating where i was coming from.
granted there is much less luck involved, but i feel it is like our fantasy football league. no matter what, the top 10 teams of all time are the 10 champs. after that, there can be plenty of discussion, but those 10 teams are locked in those slots. even the beamteam from 2 years ago. a ring is a ring, and like my main man ronnie harper used to stutter, it ddddont mean a thththing if you aint got thththat ring.
